It's the end of January as we know it - Yeah, I feel fine
Sometimes you don't account for exhaustion. I wanted to report back after every week and put out an update on where my mileage stood, but as you can see that did not happen. Here I sit on January 31st and looking forward to my life returning to a little bit of normalcy as my 6 week work project is officially over and I'll be returning to my normal work shifts.
I'll be able to get my sleeping patterns back, this is muy importante!
Walk the Year - 2021 miles in 2021
As I approached this weekend I saw that 250 miles for January was within reach and I wanted to make sure I hit it. Today I took a 3 mile walk with my wife and tonight I hit the elliptical for an hour so that I could guarantee that I got all my miles in. While my Fitbit and my elliptical disagree with each other over how many steps I got in during that 1 hour trek it doesn't matter because I surpassed 250 miles no matter how you look at it.
If I can keep up the pace of 250 miles per month then that will put me at 8 months to hit 2021 miles and crush my goal of getting it in.
My teammate, Ryan, is currently about 30 miles ahead of me so of course I look at this as a challenge to catch up to him. We did over 500 miles this month which means we'll knock out the team goal in just 4 months!
Our other teammate, Jay, who is not registered on the site but reporting his numbers daily is at 206 miles before reporting Jan 31st. This puts us over 700 miles between the 3 of us.
I'm very proud of the dedication through the first month.
For January I did over 559,000 steps and 252 miles per Fitbit reporting! This puts me well on pace to break 6 million steps for the year which was my initial goal.
My weight started at 229 on January 1st and I should be hovering right around 225 when I weigh in on February 1st which means that my weight loss slowed but I would have still lost approximately 1 pound per week.
In January I have been focusing on getting my nutrition corrected and as such I was expecting slower results. I am making sure to get in enough protein to keep me going and I'm getting more comfortable with it. Now that my 6 weeks of hell at work is over with I plan on adding in some form of exercise to my routines in order to build a little muscle and help speed up my metabolism.
My Ultimate Goal is 200 pounds by April 25th! I don't think it will be easy to get there but I think hard work and dedication will help me accomplish that. With proper nutrition to keep me going and a good exercise program along with getting in all those extra miles I feel like nothing can stop me.
Thank you all for taking this walk with me!
Keep getting in those exercises and keep hitting your goals. 2021 is going to be an amazing year, belly fat be damned!
